So long Webflow

When you’re an agency, your own website always falls to the bottom of the priority list. After the holidays, we saw an ever so slight opening and decided it was finally time to migrate our site from Webflow to a stack powered by Next.js and Sanity.

Don’t get me wrong—Webflow served us well for a while. It let us quickly build and manage our site, but in the end, we found ourselves resorting to too many little hacks to get exactly what we wanted. Plus, the experience of writing custom code in the platform isn’t exactly ideal. And let’s be honest: we can write code. We don’t need a SaaS tool to do it for us. Since Next.js and Sanity are our go-to tools for the work we do for our clients, switching to the same stack for our own site felt like the logical next step. Here’s why:

Flexibility

With Next.js and Sanity, we have full control over both the front end and back end, giving us the flexibility to craft highly custom and dynamic pages without limitations.

Performance

Speed is critical for any modern website. Thanks to Next.js, with its server-side rendering and caching primitives, our pages load faster than ever. Also, leveraging React Server Components allows us to ship a bit less code to the client.

Scalability (get it?)

Sanity’s headless CMS lets us manage content effortlessly while scaling seamlessly as our needs grow. Real-time collaboration and flexible schemas made the migration process surprisingly smooth, and we now have a system that can grow with us.

Developer Experience

Great tools make a big difference, and we’ve loved how Next.js integrates with modern packages. It’s efficient, intuitive, and backed by an amazing developer community—just like Sanity. The whole experience has been a win for our team.

Future-Proofing

This move wasn’t just about solving today’s challenges—it’s about building a foundation for the future. Whether we’re adding features, reimagining workflows, or scaling services, this stack gives us the flexibility and power to handle it all.

At the end of the day, this migration was about holding our own site to the same high standards we deliver to our clients: speed, flexibility, and great technology. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out, and we’re excited to see where this setup takes us next.
